(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Aviation Machinist’s Mate Third Class Henry Rockwell Shaffer, Jr., United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a combat aircrewman in a Patrol Bomber in Patrol Bombing Squadron TWENTY-FIVE (VPB-25) over the Pacific area from 27 November 1944 to 14 January 1945.
