Reiter (NSN: 2440210), United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Aircrewman in Patrol Bombing Squadron ONE HUNDRED SIX (VPB-106), over Borneo, Celebes, Malaya, and Indo-China coasts from 26 April 1945 to 1 June 1945.
