Mott (NSN: 6106238), United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Plane Captain and Forward Deck Turret Gunner in a Patrol Bomber in Patrol Bombing Squadron ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-ONE (VPB-121), over Wake and Ponape Islands, Iwo Jima, Chichi Jima and Japan, from 7 March 1945 to 11 August 1945.
