(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Aviation Radioman First Class Carl Coleman Martin, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Aircrewman in a Patrol Bomber in Patrol Bombing Squadron SEVENTY-ONE (VPB-71), in the forward Pacific area, from 18 December 1944 to 3 February 1945.
