McGuigan, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Officer-in-Charge Shipbuilding and Conversion of vessels, and later, SupShip, Todd Pacific Shipyards, Inc., Tacoma, Washington, July 1942 to August 1945.
