Jones, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Head of the Industrial Engineering Section of Facilities Branch, then as Assistant Head of Facilities Branch, Bureau of Ships, from April 1942 to 15 October 1945.
