(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Paul T. Rennell, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Executive Officer of Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron TWENTY-ONE (MTB-21), April 1943 to January 1944; and as Commanding Officer of the same Squadron from February to September 1944, in sinking or destroying more than 100 enemy barges in New Guinea, New Britain and the Admiralty Islands.
