(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Seaman Second Class Robert Neal King, United States Naval Reserve, was awarded the Silver Star (Posthumously) for gallantry in action as a member of a 20-mm. gun crew aboard the U.S.S. ST. LOUIS (CL-49), in Leyte Gulf on 27 November 1944. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
