    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant James V. Fallon, United States Naval Reserve, was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action as Commander of a Patrol Plane during World War II. Lieutenant Fallon attacked and damaged an enemy destroyer before crash-landing at sea. He displayed exceptional leadership qualities during the next three weeks in bringing his entire crew to safety. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
