SAWFISH (SS-276), during the SEVENTH War Patrol of that Submarine in enemy-controlled waters of the Pacific Ocean Area from 22 June 1944 to 15 August 1944. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.

His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
