(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Captain David Rowland Lee, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Commanding Officer of advance naval base in the British Solomon islands area, and assistant Chief of Staff for Commander Southern Pacific and Commander South Pacific Force, from 8 July 1943 to 1 June 1945.
