(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Major Joseph M. Grohando, Army of France, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving with 1st French Army, in action against enemy forces from 16 to 21 August 1944. Major Grohando’s outstanding accomplishments, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the Armed Forces of the Allied Nations.
