(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Commander James R. Compton, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Commander of a PB-4Y aircraft over the Green, Wakde and Owi Islands, from 23 April 1944 to 19 August 1944.
