(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Commander (MC) Edward C. Klein, Jr., United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as a Medical Officer with the 7th Amphibious Force in operations against the Japanese in Dutch New Guinea, in April and July 1944.
