    The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Legion of Merit to Captain Myron T. Richardson, United States Navy, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Plans and Operations Officer on the staff of a naval task force commander during the invasion of Southern France in 1944. Captain Richardson exhibited skill and energy in developing sound and comprehensive plans for the assault. His later services as senior naval liaison officer with the U.S. 7th Army were invaluable in maintaining close communications with its rapidly moving headquarters.
