Loughridge (NSN: 4027716), United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Turret Gunner of a Torpedo Plane embarked in U.S.S. SUWANNEE (CVE-27), operating against the Japanese from 1 to 25 April 1945.
