Linhart (NSN: 6681676), United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a member of the aircrew of a U.S. Navy Patrol Bombing Aircraft in Patrol Bombing Squadron SIXTY-THREE (VPB-63) engaged in anti-submarine operations in the Bay of Biscay and the Western Approaches to the United Kingdom during the period 17 August 1942 to 26 June 1944.
