Johnson (NSN: 6081049), United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Gunner on a Liberator Bomber in Bombing Squadron ONE HUNDRED FOUR (VB-104), over the Solomon, Gilbert and Caroline Islands during World War II.
