Heeb (NSN: 0-363805), United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Co-pilot and navigator of a Patrol Bomber in Patrol Bombing Squadron ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-ONE (VPB-121), at Wake and Ponape Islands, Iwo Jima, Chichi Jima, and the Japanese mainland from 7 March 1945 to 11 August 1945.
