The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Lieutenant Junior Grade Clifford Clyde Cox (NSN: 0-283938), United States Navy, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight during World War II. Piloting a patrol plane against an enemy submarine, Lieutenant, Junior Grade, Cox pressed home a skillful and daring depth-charge attack which probably sank the German ship.
