    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Chief Motor Machinist’s Mate Charles W. Patrick (NSN: 3419802), United States Navy, was awarded the Silver Star (Posthumously) for gallantry in action while in charge of the engineroom of the U.S.S. GRAMPUS (SS-207), during the FOURTH and FIFTH War Patrols of that submarine during the period 2 October 1942 to 19 January 1943, in enemy controlled waters of the Solomon Islands Area. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
