(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Gunner’s Mate Second Class Carl Grizzle (NSN: 2875130), United States Navy, was awarded the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action while serving as Gun Captain of a 40-mm. gun aboard the U.S.S. KIMBERLY (DD-521), in the Okinawa area, on 26 March 1945. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
