Peter Neffenger was commissioned in 1982 through the Coast Guard Officer Candidate School in 1982. From 2014 to 2015 her served as the 29th Vice Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard, and retired as a U.S. Coast Guard Vice Admiral in 2015.
