The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Navy and Marine Corps Medal to Motor Machinist’s Mate First Class Henry H. Dozier, United States Navy, for heroic conduct while serving aboard a United States Submarine during war patrols in enemy controlled waters during World War II. As throttleman during five patrols, Motor Machinist’s Mate First Class Dozier rendered valuable assistance in keeping the main engines in operating condition throughout these missions and in sinking a warship and other vessels totaling 59,417 tons, and damaging 26,300 tons of shipping, including another warship.
