The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Navy and Marine Corps Medal to Motor Machinist’s Mate First Class Albert E. Kemp, Jr., United States Navy, for heroic conduct as Engineer of a motor whaleboat during the rescue of survivors from a destroyer during World War II. In the face of great danger, Motor Machinist’s Mate First Class Kemp remained at his post and carried out his duties while the boat was maneuvered into heavy seas and among threatening rocks.
