The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Navy and Marine Corps Medal to Torpedoman’s Mate Third Class Donald J. Snyder, United States Navy, for heroic conduct while serving aboard a United States Submarine during four War Patrols in enemy-controlled water during World War II. By the performance of his duties with judgment and skill, he contributed materially to the destruction of an important amount of Japanese shipping.
