The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Navy and Marine Corps Medal to Yeoman First Class Ralph E. Korn, United States Navy, for heroic conduct during war patrols in enemy controlled waters during World War II. While serving as lookout, steersman, and sound operator aboard a United States Submarine during three war patrols, Yeoman First Class Korn contributed materially to the destruction of an important amount of Japanese shipping.
