Ericksen (ASN: 0-401913), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Headquarters, 135th Infantry Regiment, 34th Infantry Division, in action against the enemy in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations in 1942 and 1943. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.

Lieutenant Colonel Ericksen’s extraordinary heroism, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty at the cost of his life, exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself, the 34th Infantry Division, and the United States Army.
