    Lieutenant, Junior Grade Raymond G. Porter, United States Navy, was captured by Japanese forces after his airplane in Torpedo Squadron EIGHTY-SEVEN (VT-87) was shot down on 28 July 1945. He was one of nine American Prisoners of War who died as a result of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima on 6 August 1945.
