(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Seaman First Class Robert H. Adams, United States Coast Guard, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroism in rescuing an enlisted man from drowning on 24 February 1945, in Pearl Harbor, Oahu, Territory of Hawaii. Upon seeing a swimmer sink beneath the water he with utter disregard for his personal safety bravely plunged over board and towed the then unconscious seaman to the shore. With skill and courage he saved the life of the drowning seaman.
