    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Chief Boatswain’s Mate Marshall Lysaght, United States Coast Guard, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroic conduct while serving aboard the U.S.C.G.C. ATAK in effecting the rescue of personnel from the wrecked trawler TERRA NOVA on 13 September 1943. Upon learning that 20 members of the trawler’s crew remained on board the sinking vessel Chief Boatswain’s Mate Lysaght volunteered as coxswain of the lifeboat assigned the rescue operations and skill fully made four trips between the two vessels. Working without relief for four hours and loading his small boat to capacity on each run he succeeded in the transferring all survivors from the trawlers to his ship.
