The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Aviation Ordnanceman Third Class Conrad Burbach, Jr., United States Naval Reserve, for heroism and extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight in operations against the enemy in the vicinity of Korea on 5 May, 7 May, and 4 July 1945. By his skill and courage he was important in the acquisition of valuable information concerning hostile enemy forces. Because of his devotion to duty, sticking to his post in the face of intense anti-aircraft fire, he materially aided in the destruction of two tankers, a train and two railroad bridges. His skill and courage were at all times in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
