The President of the United States of America takes pride in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) to Aviation Radioman First Class Alexander James Boyd (NSN: 6189028), United States Naval Reserve, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight in the vicinity of the Philippine Islands, Borneo, Korea, and Nansei Shoto from 22 April to 5 August 1945. Aviation Radioman First Class Boyd completed twenty flights in a combat area where enemy anti-aircraft fire was expected to be effective or where enemy aircraft patrols usually occurred.
