    The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Navy and Marine Corps Medal to Chief Motor Machinist’s Mate Kenneth F. Booth (NSN: 3571100), United States Navy, for heroism during action in the performance of his duties in the U.S.S. SALMON (SS-182) during the ELEVENTH War Patrol of that Submarine from 24 September to October 1944. As Machinist’s Mate in Charge, his cool manner, keen understanding of the equipment under his charge, and untiring devotion to duty contributed directly to the success of his ship. His conduct throughout was an inspiration to all with whom he served and was in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
