The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting a Gold Star in lieu of a Second Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to Ensign Mabry Blaylock, Jr. (NSN: 0-402702), United States Naval Reserve, for heroism and extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight in twenty aerial flights against the enemy forces within the period 16 February to 15 June 1945, during the invasion of Iwo Jima, and during the invasion of Okinawa Gunto, Empire of Japan.
