(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Chef des Squadron Simon Marie Ludovic de Carmeajne, Army of France, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving with 7th Regiment Chasseurs d’Afrique, French Army, in action against enemy forces in Italy and during the fight for Toulon, France, on 20 and 21 May 1944. Chef des Squadron de Carmeajane’s outstanding accomplishments, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the Armed Forces of the Allied Nations.
