(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Lieutenant Colonel Henry Marie Guy DeGrout de Beaufort, Army of France, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving with Combat Command No. 2, 5th Regiment de Chas d’ Afrique, French Army, attached to the U.S. 1st Armored Division, in action against enemy forces in France, from 5 – 14 September 1944. Lieutenant Colonel de Beaufort’s outstanding accomplishments, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the Armed Forces of the Allied Nations.
