    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Technician Fifth Grade Donald Keith Davis (ASN: 19106483), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving as a Medical Aidman with a Medical Detachment, 17th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron, 15th Cavalry Group (Separate), NINTH U.S. Army, in action against enemy forces in Germany, on 3 March 1945. Technician Fifth Grade Davis courageously advanced in the face of deadly enemy fire to rescue three severely wounded men from a disabled assault gun, exposing himself frequently for more than four hours and making nine advances to within 75 yards of the enemy in order to aid his comrades. Technician Fifth Grade Davis’ extraordinary heroism, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
