    The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Lieutenant, Junior Grade Maurice Edward Beaulieu (NSN: 0-305792), United States Naval Reserve, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight in the Pacific Area from 28 October 1944 to 3 January 1945. Lieutenant, Junior Grade, Beaulieu completed twenty flights in a combat area where enemy anti-aircraft fire was expected to be effective or where enemy aircraft patrols usually occurred. His conduct throughout has distinguished him among those performing duties of the same character.

    The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Ensign Maurice Edward Beaulieu (NSN: 0-305792), United States Naval Reserve, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity while participating in aerial flight as pilot of a carrier-based fighter aircraft in Fighting Squadron TWENTY (VF-20), on a strike against a Japanese Fleet on 24 October 1944, in the vicinity of the Philippine Islands. With complete disregard for his own personal safety and in the face of intense anti-aircraft fire, he attacked and scored rocket hits on a destroyer causing consider damage. His coolness, courage and skill were at all times in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
