First Lieutenant Curry led his tank into a heavy German barrage where his tank was crippled. Despite being wounded himself, Lieutenant Curry removed his two helplessly wounded crewmen in the midst of more shelling. Under an incessant barrage, he cared for them until darkness when he made his way to the Allied lines. His extraordinary heroism, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself, the 1st Armored Division, and the United States Army.
