The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Aviation Ordnanceman First Class Sib Sidney Anderson, United States Navy, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flights as an aircrewman in a carrier-based Torpedo Bomber in attacks against enemy installations, positions and surface units in support of amphibious operations by our own forces. He completed his 11th through 15th flights against the enemy at Okinawa Shima, Nansei Shoto, between 23 March and 29 April 1945. During all these attacks, he performed his assigned duties in an outstanding manner and his courage was at all times in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
