(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Aviation Electrician’s Mate Second Class Bruce B. Dallas, United States Navy, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in connection with military operations against the enemy while serving as Copilot of a search and rescue helicopter, attached to Helicopter Combat Support Squadron SEVEN (HC-7), Detachment 104, embarked aboard U.S.S. PREBLE (DLG-15) operating as a crewman of the United States Seventh Fleet, in connection with the rescue of two downed aviators in North Vietnam on 19 June 1968. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Naval Service.
