(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Commander Richard Clark Perry, United States Navy, was awarded a Gold Star in lieu of a Second Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) for heroism and extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight on 29 August 1967, while serving as a Pilot in Attack Squadron ONE HUNDRED SIXTY-FOUR (VA-164), embarked in U.S.S. ORISKANY (CVA-34).
