McDevitt, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States from 2 July 1965 to 16 March 1968, as a legal affairs officer on the staff of the Commander in Chief Pacific.
