(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Rear Admiral Kenneth L. Veth, United States Navy, was awarded the Navy Distinguished Service Medal for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States as Chief, Naval Advisory Group, United States Military Assistance Command, Vietnam, and as Commander, United States Naval Forces, Vietnam, from April to December 1967. Rear Admiral Veth guided the development and operations of the Vietnamese Navy, though under the continual stress of combat, and contributed to the development of plans and operations of great significance to the defense of the Republic of Vietnam. His singularly distinctive accomplishments and his dedicated contributions in the service of his country reflect the highest credit upon himself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
