(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Hospital Corpsman First Class Neil E. McIsaac, United States Navy, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroism following a collision between his ship U.S.S. TOMBIGBEE and U.S.S. McMORRIS on 31 January 1967. Hospital Corpsman First Class McIsaac boarded McMORRIS and administered oxygen therapy to a crewman pinned in wreckage and suffocating from diesel oil fumes, released as a result of the collision.
