(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Chief Commissaryman Richard J. Kehoe, United States Navy, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroism on 11 March 1967, while serving on board U.S.S. CHASE COUNTY (LST-532), in assisting in the rescue of 29 Japanese survivors of the wrecks of two fishing boats at Bombay Reef in the China Sea.
