(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Timothy W. Wright, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism and extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight on 1 July 1966, while providing fighter cover for A-4 and A-6 aircraft which were diverted from their mission to strike North Vietnamese patrol torpedo boats speeding to attack four U.S. destroyers in the Gulf of Tonkin.
