Peet, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Military Assistant to the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Defense, and later as military assistant to the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, International Security Affairs, from 8 July 1965 to 1 September 1966.
