Martinsen, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States from July 1962 to January 1967, as Assistant Chief of the Bureau of Yards and Docks for Operations and Maintenance, as Director of Facilities Management, and as Deputy Commander for Management, Naval Facilities Engineering Command.
